The Author

Dustin D. Morrow is a doctoral student in Baylor University’s Department of English.  His research interests include American Literature after the Civil War, Continental Philosophy, and Modernism. He currently teaches “Thinking and Writing,” a freshman composition course at Baylor.

Prior to the university, Dustin worked as a Senior Associate and Math Specialist for the National Center on Education and the Economy. Dustin began his career as an educator as a Teach For America corps member.  During his Teach For America service, Dustin worked as both the Model Math Teacher and Ramp-Up to Literacy teacher in the pilot years of America’s Choice school reform initiative in Mississippi.  After Teach For America, Dustin taught Readers/Writers Workshop, American History, and served as the Middle School Lead Teacher at Como Montessori School, a free public Montessori school.  Dustin, also, interned at Houston Montessori Center in Houston, training for Montessori Secondary I certification from the American Montessori Society.

Dustin considers himself a member of the Enlightenment Party.  He holds steadfastly to the belief that education is a civil right, and he looks forward to the day when all people will have access to the finest available education regardless of race, gender, or class.
